In RuneScape, the TokTz-Ket-Dill is a quest where players are asked to defeat a monster that is terrorising the city of TzHaar. The monster has been burrowing tunnels, causing some of them to collapse, and players must stabilise the tunnels and kill the monster before the entire city is threatened. Players must use a pickaxe to break the monster's armour, and then use a melee weapon to finish it off. The fight is fairly unique, as the monster has very thick armour that can only be broken with a pickaxe. Players must hit the monster with their pickaxe until its armour breaks, and then they can use any melee weapon to finish it off.

What You'll Learn
What is the TokTz-Ket-Dill?
The TokTz-Ket-Dill is a monster that has dug a series of tunnels underneath the TzHaar city, causing some of them to collapse. The TzHaar fear that their home will be ruined and ask players to help stabilise the tunnels and defeat the monster.
The quest starts in the TzHaar City, found at the top of the Karamja Volcano. Players must talk to one of the three guards, TzHaar-Mej-Malk, TzHaar-Xil-Tog or TzHaar-Hur-Frok, who are guarding a collapsed tunnel in the eastern part of the city. They will explain that a large creature has been digging tunnels under the city and that many TzHaar-Hur are trapped behind a collapse. The player must offer to stabilise the tunnels and kill the TokTz-Ket-Dill.
The player must then go to the TzHaar Library to get a translation book for the list of required items. They will find that all the books have been burnt to ashes by the heat and will need to head to the Varrock Palace Library to find the original book. After reading it, they will return to TzHaar City and talk to TzHaar-Ket-Grol, who will ask them some questions about what they have translated.
The player must then get their oak planks treated and learn about mining through magma. They will need to enter the cave east of TzHaar-Ket-Grol and talk to TzHaar-Hur-Brekt, who will eventually agree to teach them about magma mining if they help him get four TzHaars to participate in his play. The player must help him sort out the plot and assign roles to the TzHaars.
After mining the nearby Obsidian walls to get about 20 stone slabs, the player must prepare for working in the underground tunnels. They will need to bring a Rune pickaxe, pillars, treated oak planks, and food for all three areas of the tunnels. They will also need a mage attack method for the second area and both a mage and a range attack method for the third area.
To enter the tunnels, the player must go to TzHaar-Ket-Grol's location to the southeast of the city and go through the crack in the wall. They will need to use a combination of pillars and treated oak planks to repair the various cave-ins. If they use the wrong item, rocks will fall and they will receive damage.
Once the player has repaired the first area, they must mine through the exit and defeat the monsters in the second and third areas, repairing each area as they go. They will eventually end up in a new TzHaar mining area, where they can exit the mining area through the south to open a passage to the quest start point. This allows them to go to the bank and prepare for the final battle with the level 100 TokTz-Ket-Dill.
For the final fight, the player will need a Rune pickaxe, melee armour, and another weapon with a strong crush attack. They must use the Rune pickaxe to crack through the tough outer shell of the TokTz-Ket-Dill before they can use any other weapon. Once the shell is broken, they can use a crush attack to continue attacking until they have won.

Defeating the TokTz-Ket-Dill is no easy feat. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to defeat it:
Step 1: Gather the Required Items
Before you begin, ensure you have the following items:
- An adamant pickaxe or better (the tool belt will work if you already have a melee weapon equipped)
- A main-hand magic weapon and runes for water spells, or a necromancy weapon
- A melee weapon (optional but recommended for faster breaking of the TokTz-Ket-Dill's armour)
- Food for the final fight (portent of restoration does not work)
- Varrock armour for mining obsidian
- Transportation to Varrock for quick access to the Varrock Palace library
- TokKul-Zo for quick teleportation around TzHaar City
Step 2: Stabilise the Tunnels
Enter the TzHaar City and speak to one of the three guards, TzHaar-Mej-Malk, TzHaar-Xil-Tog, or TzHaar-Hur-Frok, who are guarding a collapsed tunnel in the eastern part of the city. They will explain that a large creature, the TokTz-Ket-Dill, has been digging tunnels under the city, causing some of them to collapse. Offer to stabilise the tunnels and kill the TokTz-Ket-Dill.
Go south and speak to TzHaar-Ket-Grol at the crack in the wall. He will not allow you to pass without the proper materials, which he writes down on a stone tablet in the TzHaar language.
Step 3: Translate the Tablet
Head to the TzHaar Library to find a translation book for the list of required items. The cave leading to the library is located northwest of the main plaza. Speak to TzHaar-Mej-Lor, the librarian, who will inform you that the original book was from the Varrock Palace library.
Go to the Varrock Palace library and talk to Reldo. He will direct you to the Tzhaar tourist guide, which contains the translation you need. Read the book, then return to TzHaar City and share your findings with TzHaar-Ket-Grol.
Step 4: Gather Materials and Learn Magma Mining
TzHaar-Ket-Grol will now ask you to get your oak planks treated and learn about mining through magma. Get 14 oak planks and take them to TzHaar-Hur-Frok, who will turn them into treated oak planks for you.
Next, enter the cave east of TzHaar-Ket-Grol and speak to TzHaar-Hur-Brekt. He will eventually agree to teach you about magma mining if you help him get four TzHaars mining in the cave to participate in his play. Help him sort out the plot, then speak to each of the miners and suggest changes to the plot to please them.
Step 5: Mine Obsidian and Craft Pillars
TzHaar-Hur-Brekt will now teach you how to mine magma. Mine the nearby obsidian walls to obtain stone slabs, then craft them into stone pillars using a chisel and hammer. You will need at least 17 stone pillars.
Step 6: Prepare for Battle
Head back to the bank and gear up for the final part of the quest. This includes combat gear such as a rune pickaxe, pillars, treated oak planks, food, and both a mage and range attack method.
Step 7: Enter the Tunnels and Defeat the Monsters
To enter the tunnels, go to TzHaar-Ket-Grol's location and pass through the crack in the wall. You will need to repair the tunnels by placing the correct number of pillars and planks in the damaged areas. Using the wrong item will cause rocks to fall and damage you.
The tunnels contain fire and lava monsters that must be defeated. Fire monsters must be fought with magic, while lava monsters must be fought with ranged attacks.
Step 8: Final Battle with TokTz-Ket-Dill
Once you have cleared the tunnels, it's time for the final battle with the TokTz-Ket-Dill. Enter the tunnel to the north to begin the fight.
